What's New? - February 2022
Another month has passed, and with it comes some exciting new developments for Report Toaster. Let's take a look :)
New Homepage
We'll start off this month's piece by talking about one of the most obvious changes to Report Toaster - the new homepage.
Based on some extensive research and feedback from our users, we came to the conclusion that many merchants needed better information and support (particularly among new installs).
After discussing this for a bit, we decided that the best way to do this was to leverage our existing knowledge base and create more tailor-made content that caters specifically to the types of things merchants were looking for.
Ultimately, we wanted to retain the functionality of our What's New page and still be able to share the latest updates. However, we also wanted to make it easier for our users to find quality information on how to use the app and make the best use of our different capabilities.
Enter the new homepage:

Straight away, you'll probably notice a couple of key changes:
Intro Video — A super-quick (<5 minute) video on how to use Report Toaster, covering columns, filters, saving reports and more.
Tutorial Guides — A direct link to where all our new Basics articles are located, just in case you need a more detailed explanation (or videos simply aren't your thing!). We're hard at work adding more to this section, so if there's something you'd like to see, please let us know :)
What's New? — Links to all our previous What's New articles, with the latest entries highlighted in red at the top for easy access.
Featured Reports — This is a curated list of our Featured Reports which merchants have found particularly useful. If you're new to Report Toaster or don't know where to start, why not check out some of the reports that other merchants have recommended to drive new value to your business?
Most Popular Articles — This handy shortlist shows some of the articles our merchants have found most useful, so chances are that if you're looking for something, we may already have the answer for you :)
Later this year, we have further developments planned for this space, so we'll be sure to share these with you in the coming months!
Mechanic Integrations
If the homepage was the flashy front-end change, then this represents only a fraction of the things we've been working on quietly behind the scenes.
Aside from the usual bug hunting, optimizations, and things we're not quite ready to show off yet ;) ... one of the things we've been working on has been to boost the number of integrations we have with Mechanic.
Normally we prioritize these tasks upon request from our user base, so this month we worked on developing new tasks for ShipStation and Pirate Ship.
Most merchants are acutely (and painfully) aware of how shipping costs are on the rise lately, so it came as no surprise to us that several merchants were looking for a better way to track how shipping costs affect the profits for their store.

Utilizing these integrations, you can pull the shipping costs directly out of ShipStation or Pirate Ship and plug them directly into Report Toaster, giving you the ability to immediately assess how these costs affect your bottom line.
